The Generation Google Scholarship will be awarded to students who succeed academically and have exhibited leadership potential. Also, those who have a strong commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in their communities.

Students who are sure they can meet the program’s requirements should definitely send in an application.
Particularly those individuals that identify with historically underrepresented groups in the IT business. This includes women, Africans, black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander individuals, amongst others.
For the academic year 2022–2023, candidates do not need to be enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program in order to be considered for a Google Scholarship. The following scholarships are eligible for this waiver of enrollment requirements.
Generation Google Scholarship: for women in gaming, Generation Google Scholarship: for supply chain and fulfillment, Google Lime Scholarship, Google Student Veterans of America Scholarship, Women Techmakers Scholarship for Computer Science, and Women Techmakers Scholarship for Gaming are not eligible to reapply.
Who is qualified to submit an application?
In order for applicants to be taken into consideration, they need to fulfill the following requirements:
1). Have the intention of enrolling full-time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree program for the 2022-2023 academic year. These must be at an accredited college or university in either the United States or Canada, or have already been accepted into such a program.
2). You must be enrolled in an undergraduate program leading to a degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another technical discipline that is closely related to it.
3). Demonstrate that you have a successful track record in your academic endeavors.
4). Provide evidence that meeting this financial obligation is essential to you.
5). Show leadership and a commitment to improving the representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology.
The steps that need to be taken in order to apply for the Generation Google Scholarship 2022-23 for Nigerians and others:
In order to be considered for this position, you will be asked to complete an application that is submitted online and contains the following information:
- General background information (for example, contact information and information about your current and prospective universities)
- Information about your household and its inhabitants
- Resume/CV
- Copies of your academic transcripts from each of your previous and current institutions of higher learning (if you are currently enrolled in a program) (if you have previously earned a degree)
- Responses to three essay questions should be as brief as possible.
- Recipients will be selected on the basis of the overall strength of their essays and application materials in relation to the other candidates in the pool.

Essay Questions for the Generation Google Scholarship
The purpose of the following three short-answer essay questions is to evaluate your demonstrated leadership, dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as your financial need. Each of your responses to the following three questions should be no longer than 500 words.
1) Could you please provide us with an example of a time when you demonstrated leadership?
GUIDE: Explain what it was that you were aiming to accomplish, what your role was, how you affected other people, and the impact that your actions had as a result. Think in a broad sense and investigate the myriad of ways in which you have an impact on the people who are a part of the various communities you are a part of. Bear in mind that the example you choose does not have to be a formal or conventional leadership role. All it needs to be is something that demonstrates leadership.
2) What do you believe to be the primary source of a big problem that affects people who have been historically excluded from the field of technology? Also, what do you consider to be the most serious issue that this problem presents? What steps have you taken to solve this difficulty that you are facing?
GUIDE: Remember that effects can take place in a variety of ways and on a number of different scales. At least half of your response should be devoted to discussing the steps you have already taken.
3) Please describe any relevant financial circumstances that have contributed to your scholarship need.
GUIDE: When giving your response, make sure to explain how you overcame any challenges that stood in the way of you reaching your current position. Which of your long-term objectives do you believe this scholarship will help you achieve?

Conditions of Use of Generation Google scholarship Money
The grant money from the Generation Google Scholarship must be used to cover the cost of tuition. Also, fees, books, supplies, and equipment that are necessary for the students’ classes at their primary university.
The recipients of the scholarship are required to be students attending school full-time during the 2022-2023 academic year.
Before the winners are chosen, the students’ enrollment status will be checked. Note that any scholarship money will be sent directly to the student. This is so that they can use it to pay for things like tuition and other fees.
If the student is younger than 18 years old when they accept their acceptance into the program, the terms and conditions of the scholarship offer must be signed by a parent or guardian.
If a scholar no longer satisfies the requirements for eligibility, their award will be withheld. Their award will be taken away if they stop meeting the requirements for eligibility.
Notification for the Generation Google Scholarship Award
Those who have been selected will receive a message from Google with more details on how to claim their honor.
If these requirements are not met by the deadline, the awardee will no longer be considered for the award.
Google will decide on a case-by-case basis whether or not a winner can delay getting their award for up to one (1) year from the date it was originally supposed to be paid. Google employees are not eligible for scholarships because they work for Google.
This scholarship is not available to anyone who;
(1) is a citizen of a country that is subject to an embargo.
(2) regularly reside in countries that are subject to an embargo.
(3) is in any other way prohibited by relevant export controls and sanctions programs.
